So, how did we meet?
x
I've 'met' a lot of creative and interesting people through Instagram while searching for other sustainable fashion fans and those creating real value in the industry.
x
Tell us more about your career and brand.
x
Having designed print and fashion for years as a side hustle, my big step was actually during lockdown. I was desperate to wear something other than leggings and a jumper while stuck in the house. I made myself a super glam, floor length kimono to waltz about in, shared some photos and the rest is history! Everyone loved it and clearly agreed some glamour at home goes a long way for our wellbeing and productivity.
x
I love the classic 'worn out' glamour of years gone by, think Brigitte Bardot, Slim Aarons and run down country houses all rolled into one. Pairing that with a 'made to order' business model means my customers can shop guilt free, knowing where their pieces are from and exactly who made them.
x
Best bridal advice?
x
Not just bridal, but life in general - keep it classy, don't follow trends or traditions just because other people do.... oh, and weddings are meant to be fun, try not to stress over the small stuff.
x
What aspects of a wedding would you vow to re-work, re-use and re-
purpose?
x
Everything!! I absolutely hate waste and my mum always taught me how to be resourceful. I enjoy making something out of nothing and have eclectic taste when it comes to design. A few antique pieces mixed in with new ALWAYS works best, be it in your outfit, or your wedding decorations.
x
Dream wedding guests? GO!
x
Just the people I love, nothing is private these days so I think an exclusive, small guest list is more up my street.
x
Top three songs on the dance-floor playlist?
x
Some sort of very bizarre mix of House, Pop and Soca according to my Spotify...
x
Any 2021 trends a bride-to-be needs to watch out for?
x
I'd be lying if I advised you towards any trend, I believe in rebelling against what everyone else is doing, if you want to wear a bright pink gown, do it! Having said that, if you can make your day just a little bit more sustainable, thats a trend I can get on board with.
